The Uproot Pie Co. will be back serving wood-fired pizza at the tasting room at Oxbow Brewing Co.’s farmhouse brewery in Newcastle from 4:30 p.m. to close on Friday, Aug. 4. With a passion for sustainable food, wood-fired ovens, and Midcoast Maine, Jessica Shepard founded The Uproot Pie Co. in 2001. Since then, she has been providing delicious pizza made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients for the summer market season, catering, and local festivals, in addition to her monthly trip to Oxbow Brewing Co. on the first Friday of each month.
Bottles of Momoko, Oxbow Brewing Co.’s latest bottle release, are still available and can be enjoyed on-site or to go. The barrel-aged farmhouse ale is tart and juicy and is produced by fermenting fresh-pressed peaches with a blend of barrel-aged ales. It is always a customer favorite.
