Well Seasoned, a musical group featuring the duo of Pixie Lauer and Dan Townsend, will perform at Bristol Area Library’s Trivia Night at The Contented Sole in New Harbor from 5-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 29.
Lauer is a local singer-songwriter, formerly of the Midcoast folk group Different Shoes. Townsend, who has been a regular visitor from northeastern Pennsylvania for many years, is now retired and living in Maine full time. Townsend and Lauer have been exploring a mutual love of American folk music on a part-time basis for several years and can now devote a full-time effort to their eclectic sampling of covers from the likes of Leadbelly, Bill Staines, Kate Wolf, Guy Clark, Greg Brown, John Prine, and local songwriter Joe Barth, even reprising some Different Shoes numbers including several of Lauer’s own compositions.
Lauer and Townsend are celebrating his new full-time status as a musician with a new group name, and they look forward to welcoming area guest musicians who will add their own dashes of spice to their musical offerings.
Tickets for Trivia Night are $20 each and can be purchased at the Bristol Area Library, 619 Old County Road, Pemaquid or at the door, as available.
