The Waldoboro Woman’s Club will hold its annual Whale of a Sale event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 25 at the VFW Hall on Mill Street in Waldoboro. Featured at the sale will be “trash” and treasures, including antiques, as well as a silent auction, which is always popular. Bidding for the auction will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m.
Also included at the sale will be hardback and paperback books, CDs, and puzzles, as well as a crafts table and a bake sale featuring homemade goodies. Coffee and donuts will be available beginning at 9 a.m. and a luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A made-in-Maine basket and a beautiful multicolored hooked rug will be raffled off as well. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. Raffle tickets may be purchased at the club’s table on Waldoboro Day, Saturday, June 18; by calling 832-5540; and on the day of the Whale of a Sale.
The Whale of a Sale raises money for scholarships for local high school seniors, for continuing education, and for donations to charities in the area.
