Budding wine enthusiasts interested in learning more and expanding their wine IQ will likely want to come on Thursday, June 7 from 5-7 p.m. for a fun and informative wine-tasting event at Rising Tide Community Market in Damariscotta. At the end of the event, a bottle of wine will be raffled for one lucky attendee.
Maia Gosselin, the owner of Sip Wine Education, will take attendees on a tour of delicious bubblies, whites, roses, and reds, discussing varietals, regions, history, and today’s trends. The class fee, which includes entry for the wine raffle, is $25 for co-op members and $30 for nonmembers.
Please note: Attendance is limited and advance purchase is required. To sign up, pay class fee at the front end during Rising Tide co-op store hours, daily from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Complimentary appetizers will be provided. One must be 21 or older to attend.
Gosselin has more than 15 years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry as an editor, a writer, a bartender, an educator, and a consultant. She is the owner of Sip Wine Education, a business providing in-home, on-premise bridal shower, senior living, and corporate wine education and is a regular guest on News Center Maine’s “207” show. In her profession, Gosselin finds that many people would like to learn more about wine but are intimidated by it. A skilled public speaker, she has an ease of approach to teaching, making her seminars and tastings informative yet enjoyable and unpretentious. Gosselin’s aim is to demystify the world of wine by making it fun and accessible, one sip at a time.
