The Bradford-Sortwell-Wright American Legion Auxiliary Unit 54 will host a yard sale at the former Ames Supply building on Route 1 in Wiscasset from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 9.
Tables for the sale are being rented for $10 each. Anyone interested in renting a table is asked to call Diane Munsey at 737-2997. The proceeds from the event will be used for veterans programs.
The Bradford-Sortwell-Wright post and auxiliary unit will be represented at the American Legion Department of Maine’s groundbreaking ceremony for the POW/MIA memorial at the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary headquarters in Winslow on Friday, Sept. 15. The national POW/MIA recognition is observed the third Friday of September to remember prisoners of war and those missing in action who have not returned home.
The unit will hold the installation of 2017-2018 officers at the post home on Route 1 at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 18.
