Damariscotta voters elected Louis “Lou” Abbotoni to the Damariscotta Board of Selectmen on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Abbotoni was among the five candidates to fill the seat of George Parker. Parker was elected to a second consecutive three-year term in June, but has since resigned and moved to Newcastle.
Of the 806 ballots cast, Abbotoni received 280 votes. Catherine Blount received 184 votes, Lawrence “Larry” Sidelinger received 135 votes, Lorraine Faherty received 87 votes, and Elizabeth Printy received 66 votes.
Former Selectman and current Damariscotta School Committee member Josh Pinkham received a single write-in vote.
