A Newcastle man has started a new vehicle detailing shop at 74 Biscay Road in Damariscotta.
Sean McGregor is the president of Finish Line Detailing, a new detailing business that will service automobiles, RVs, and boats.
McGregor, of Newcastle, has more than 20 years of professional experience handling and maintaining everything from automobiles to yachts. For the past two years, he has been operating a tow truck for Quick Turn Auto Repair and Towing.
“It was an opportunity that was presented to me, and I just took it,” McGregor said. “I’ve been talking to people around town and have gotten a lot of positive feedback. I’m excited to really get going.”
McGregor said Finish Line Detailing will be a “one-man show.” Services include hand-washing and waxing, upholstery cleaning, window tinting, and undercoating.
“It’s important to treat your vehicle as an investment,” McGregor said. “If you invest the time and effort into taking care of it, chances are it will last longer, and you’ll be happier in the long run.”
A grand opening celebration is planned for June 1. In the meantime, McGregor is taking on customers and jobs.
McGregor said he has experience in various service industries, which is why he will focus on the customer experience at Finish Line Detailing.
“One of the things I’ve learned over the years is that customer service makes or breaks a business,” McGregor said. “I take it very seriously when a customer comes in with something they love and trusts me to take care of it. If a customer doesn’t leave here happy, then I won’t be happy.”
Finish Line Detailing is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The business is closed on Sundays.
