Round Pond’s waterfront restaurant has expanded its menu to include a popular new option: Sunday brunch.
Premiering on May 1, The Anchor’s new brunch menu features classics like eggs and omelets, pancakes, and Belgian waffles.
“Our goal is doing it well with a twist,” said co-owner Andrea Reny. She and her husband, Dan Reny, run both The Anchor and Muscongus Bay Lobster in Round Pond.
The Renys took over The Anchor, formerly Anchor Inn, last year, renovating the restaurant and giving it a new look and name. Reny said The Anchor has always been popular for dinner, but she felt there was a missed opportunity to enjoy the earlier part of Round Pond’s day.
Reny said the restaurant strives to support local agriculture and farmers. They grow some produce right at The Anchor and get all their seafood from local fishermen. She hopes to add meat to the list of local ingredients soon.
Brunch is available on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The lunch menu, cocktails, and mimosas are also available.
The Anchor is located at 34 Anchor Inn Road in Round Pond. To make a reservation, call 529-2600.
