Adam Christopher Percy, 28, of Washington, passed away suddenly in Scranton, Penn. while traveling for his work.
Adam was born in Rockport on July 14, 1980. He lived most of his life in Washington, graduating from Medomak Valley High School, Class of 1998, and then spent the next three years attending school at Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vt.
Adam was a wanderer at heart, according to his mom. He also had a passion for performing magic tricks since elementary school, and performing in theatre. He began a lifetime of travel in answer to that wandering spirit, working and traveling within the entertainment business. Adam got to live his dream. He made many new friends and saw countless new places along the way. He was a gentle young man with a big compassionate heart, a sense of humor, and a love of life.
He began his working career as a telemarketer. He went on to work in several restaurants as a chef in the Rockland area before returning to Vermont to chef at the Woodstock Inn. He left the inn to join the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus as a chef on its circus train as it crossed the United States. He left Ringling Brothers to join up with Jeff Dunham’s Tour, Cole Brothers Circus, as its office manager, then went on to join the U.S.O. Tour with Sesame Street, which he worked for briefly before returning to the Cole Brothers Circus last March as its marketing director.
Adam is predeceased by a grandfather, Richard Percy.
He is survived by his mother, Lynn Percy of Washington; grandmother, Winifred Percy of Martinsville; step-grandmother, Cynthia Percy of Belfast; uncle, Shane Percy and wife Sylvia of Warren; cousin, Michael Percy of Warren; and many friends along the way.
