Albert M. Waltz, 84, of Wiscasset, formerly of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., passed away Aug. 6 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta after a period of failing health.
Albert was born May 3, 1928 in Philadelphia, Penn., the son of William W. and Florence Carpenter Waltz, and attended schools on Staten Island, N.Y.
He entered the U.S. Army during WWII, serving on Guam near the end of the war, and was called back to serve stateside during the Korean War.
Albert was employed by IBM for 32 years, working in several offices, including Fishkill and Poughkeepsie, N.Y., retiring as an electrical engineer.
He was a member of St. Columba’s Episcopal Church in Boothbay Harbor, the U.S. Power Squadron and Down East Modelers Guild.
Albert is predeceased by his son, William W. Waltz, who passed away in 1990.
Survivors include wife, Doris Waltz of Wiscasset; son, Howard W. Waltz of Conesus, N.Y.; daughter, Susan M. Waltz of Wiscasset; sister, Meriam Murphy of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service 2 p.m., Mon., Aug. 13 at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church, 32 Emery Lane, Boothbay Harbor.
