Alexander Bernard Stetz, 25, of Westport Island, died April 14 at his residence.
He was born in Dothan, Ala. on July 18, 1984, the son of Bernard D. and Susan P. (Worrell) Stetz.
Alexander graduated from Apex High School in Apex, N.C. He attended Waketech Community College, Western Carolina University, Eastern Carolina University and Southern Maine University. He was a licensed Emergency Medical Technician.
Before relocating to Maine, he volunteered and ran emergency rescues with the Garner Fire Department in Garner, N.C. and worked for Harris Teeter Corporation.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Damariscotta and Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Bernard and Agnes Stetz of Birmingham, Ala. and Hubert and Susan Worrell of Dothan, Ala.
He is survived by his parents, Bernard D. and Susan P. Stetz of Westport Island; uncle, Rusty Worrell and aunt Deborah Worrell of Birmingham, Ala.; and cousins, Miranda Bryen and Trevor Bryen.
Memorial service April 17 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel, 61 Belvedere Rd., Damariscotta.
