Alfred R. Huskins, 85, of Southport, died Dec. 13 at the Gregory Wing at St. Andrews Village after a period of failing health.
Alfred was born Oct. 19, 1924 in Nova Scotia, the son of Edgar and Sadie Swimms Huskins, and attended Southport schools and Boothbay High School.
He was a longtime employee of the Lusty Lobster Pound on Southport, and also mowed lawns and did grounds work for families on Southport.
He loved his dogs Benji and Buffy.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Estella Roberts Huskins, who died in 1984.
Survivors include his wife Marlene Huskins-Pottle of Southport; son, Eugene Huskins and wife Vickie of Southport; stepdaughter, Sally Barter and husband Calvin of Boothbay Harbor; stepson, Clayton Pottle and wife Cindy of Southport; brothers, Walter Huskins of Gardiner, and Clifford Huskins of West Boothbay Harbor; grandchildren, Beth Teele of Boothbay, Kelly Fosterling of Concord, N.H., and Mark Huskins of Pittsfield; four great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
Family graveside service will be held in the spring.
