Alice M. Gartside Killam, 78, of Kittery, former longtime resident of Round Pond and Sandown, N.H., passed away Nov. 11 after a brief illness.
Born in Lawrence, Mass. she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Druscilla Gartside. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School class of 1950. Alice held several occupations including secretary, switchboard operator and bookkeeper. She shared the musical career of her husband Horace whose primary career was a church organist. Alice was a member of the numerous choirs that Horace directed.
Alice was predeceased by sister, Evelyn Stevers and brothers, George and Walter Gartside.
Alice is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Horace; brothers, Robert and Edwin Gartside; sister-in-law, Martha Morrison; son, Edwin and wife Tory; daughters, Cheryl and Ellen; grandchildren, Meredith, Justin, Jessica, Rebecca and Russell; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service 1 p.m., Tues., Nov. 16 at the Bremen Union Church, 523 Waldoboro Rd., Bremen. Celebration of life to be held in the springtime at Pemaquid Point, Pemaquid.
