Alton “Bud” Hall, 77, of Cheyenne, passed on peacefully Aug 21, with his loving wife at his side. He was born Sept. 6, 1935 in Stamford, Conn., to the late Lowell Preston Hall and Evelyn Erma White.
Bud was salutatorian of his high school graduating class (1952) at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle. He achieved his Bachelor of Science degree at Babson College in Massachusetts and was valedictorian of his graduating class (1955).
He served honorably and retired as a Commander in the U.S. Navy. He also had a second career as a Special Agent for the federal government. As part of this career he did protection detail for two former U.S. Presidents and an emperor.
Bud was very athletic and loved the outdoors. After he retired at 50 years of age he always searched for part-time seasonal employment that involved his favorite outdoor interests such as tennis, ice skating, skiing, hiking, bicycling, softball, and baseball. He also loved to travel. Bud and his wife, Pat, traveled within the U.S. and abroad for 20 years.
Bud is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patricia (Morin) Hall of Cheyenne; two daughters, Beth, of Massachusetts, and Susan, of Montana; a son, Michael, of Arizona; a brother, Gary Wright, of Tennessee; a stepbrother, Chester Wright, of Maine; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Preston Hall and mother, Evelyn Erma White and stepfather, Howard R. Wright.
A private family memorial is planned at a later date.
