Andrew L. Noyes, 69, of New Harbor, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Jan. 22 at the Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. Born on March 9, 1942, in Marblehead, Mass., he was the son of William R. and Eleanor A. (Brooks) Noyes.
He graduated from Gloucester High School in 1961, and went on to earn his Associates Degree in Economics from Chamberlayne Junior College in Boston. He went to work as a realtor for Lufkin & Brown Associates in Gloucester from 1969-1974.
In 1979, he started his own appraisal company, Property Financial Services, which would grow to have offices throughout six New England states. He sold the company in the mid 1990’s. At this time, he was already living in Maine, and had started A.N. Appraisals. Real estate appraising was a real passion for him, and he would continue appraising until his retirement in early 2008.
He was a very active member of the Bristol Lions Club, but was also a member of the Tyrian-Acacia Lodge in Gloucester, Mass., as well as the Scottish Rite. He enjoyed boating, gardening and playing on his Kubota. He was also an avid buyer and seller of antiques, a hobby that occupied him during retirement.
He was predeceased by his father, William R. Noyes.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia F. (Ryan) Noyes of New Harbor; mother, Eleanor Noyes of New Harbor; sons, Damon Noyes of California and Jared Noyes of New Harbor; step-daughters, Jeannine Parady of New Harbor and Jeanette Minyaoui and husband Ali, of Everett, Mass.; as well as eight grandchildren, Killian Noyes, Cassidy Noyes, William Noyes, Andrew Noyes, Christopher Noyes, Casey Noyes, Halima Minyaoui and Hanaan Minyaoui.
Time to gather with the family, Fri., March 9, 4-6 p.m. at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta. A time of sharing stories and memories of Andrew will start at 5 p.m.
