Ann Louise (Sturtevant) Cavanaugh, 61, of Westport Island, died on May 21.
She was born on Dec. 17, 1950 in Holden, Mass. After moving with her family to Maine in 1982, she became very involved in the local community, initially as the co-proprietor of the Westport Barn Country Store on Westport Island.
Ann was also trained as a nurse and she worked in hospitals, home health agencies and assisted living facilities throughout the Midcoast. She participated in the Wiscasset Volunteer Ambulance Department for many years. In later years, she served as the health officer for the Town of Westport Island.
She was a loving wife, mother and friend to many in the Midcoast.
She is survived by her husband, Neil Cavanaugh; and sons, Gregory and Jeffrey.
