Anne died the morning of May 2, peacefully and surrounded by family. Born in New York City on July 16, 1951 to Eva Muller and Irving Kirk Smith, Anne grew up in Harrington Park, N.J. She attended Ramsey High School, then graduated Cum Laude from Colby Sawyer College in 1980.
Anne married David Bradford in 1981, lived in Portland, and worked at UNUM Insurance Company. In 1990 she and her husband moved to Westport Island, renovated the Old Brooks Farm, and there Anne raised her children, Eva, Eleanor, and Daniel. She was an energetic, fun mom, who provided her three kids with the most amazing childhoods.
Anne was also a volunteer at the Wiscasset Primary and Middle schools, served on the Westport Board of Education, and was a member of the Westport History and Conservation Committees. Once Anne’s children were older, she worked at the Renys office in Newcastle for nine years and was recently employed by the Bishop Insurance Agency in Boothbay Harbor.
A selfless person with the kindest heart, she was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who filled lives with love.
She is survived by her mother, Eva of Norwich, Vt.; husband, David; kids, Eva, Eleanor, and Daniel of Westport Island; seven siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial and celebration of her life, noon, Sat., May 9 at the Old Brooks Farm on Westport Island. If the weather is rainy, the service will be at the Westport Town Hall.
