Annette B. Cameron, 86, of Chamberlain, passed away the afternoon of Feb. 3 at the Lincoln Home in Newcastle surrounded by her loving husband and family.
She was born Feb. 14, 1930 in Waterville, the daughter of Aline (Doyon) and Dezeri Begin. A graduate of Lawrence High School, she spent many years in banking and retired in 1991 as the executive secretary to the Superintendent of Schools of SAD 49. She spent her retirement years at her home in Chamberlain with many winters in Lakeland, Fla. Her greatest happiness was spending time with her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by sister, Juliet Begin; and son-in-law, Anthony Young.
She is survived by her husband, Philip Cameron, whom she married on Dec. 27, 1952; children, Nora and husband Denis Hanson of Cambridge, Mass., Philip and wife Robin of Westfield, Mass., and their sons Andrew and Gregory, David and wife Jane Markham of Chicago, Ill. and their daughters Mira and Julia, Steven and wife Anna of Lansdale, Penn. and their sons Steven and Anthony, Kathleen of Springfield, Va., and her son Cameron Young, and Michael of Biddeford and his daughter Alexandra; sisters, Blanche Wrigley of Oakland, and Claire Roberts of Barre, Vt.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tues., Feb. 7 at Saint Patrick’s Church, Newcastle. Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation 4-6 p.m., Mon., Feb. 6 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta.
