Annette Beaupre Misiaszek, 74, of Friendship, passed away on March 16 at her daughter’s residence in Bremen, following a long illness.
Mrs. Misiaszek was born Dec. 2, 1932 in Chicopee, Mass., the daughter of Francis X. and Rose Parent Beaupre.
She was a graduate of Chicopee High School and attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
While living in New York, she had a career in the dental and orthodontic field.
Moving to Friendship in 1986, she became active in her local community, serving as an EMT on the Friendship ambulance squad for many years, and serving over 10 years as the captain of the squad. She also enjoyed playing bridge and tennis, and was a member of the local book club. Mrs. Misiaszek was an avid gardener who was known for the beautiful perennial gardens around her home.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Thomaston.
The 2006 Friendship Town Report is dedicated to two women, one of whom is Mrs. Misiaszek. The dedication highlights her tireless efforts with the Women’s Auxiliary, the Fire Department, the success of Friendship Days, and the Friendship Ambulance Auxiliary Foundation. The dedication closes with the following: “Annette’s attention to detail and desire to make a difference in her community by responding to the call for help is just an example of the fine, caring person she is.”
Survivors include her husband, Eugene J. Misiaszek of Friendship; son, Steven Misiaszek of Tequesta, Fla. and wife Melody; daughter, Linda Sandefur of Bremen and husband Glenn; brother, Paul Beaupre of Mabank, Tex. and wife Gail; and grandchildren, Michael Misiaszek of Tequesta, Fla., and Kevin and Leslie Sandefur of Bremen.
Graveside service 11 a.m., Thurs., March 22 at the Village Cemetery in Friendship.
