Arlene E. Staples, 75, of Washington, died April 27 at MaineGeneral Hospital in Augusta. She was born July 10, 1937 in Biddeford to Alfred and Bertha Perkins Valliere.
Arlene married William E. “Sonny” Staples Jr. and they have been happily married for 28 years, living in Washington. Arlene was a wonderful, loving and funny person.
She was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Dorothy Church, who was like a mother to Arlene.
She is survived by her husband, William E. “Sonny” Staples Jr. of Washington; sisters-in-law, Marlene Burnham and husband David of Waldoboro, Veronica Andersen and husband Larry of Cornville, and Debbie Miller of Waldoboro; brothers-in-law, Norman Benner and wife Dawn of Friendship, Gary Benner and wife Rhonda of Friendship, and Ronald Benner of Wells; niece, Sharon McSweeney and husband Jay of Chelmsford, Mass.; and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held.
