Arthur Anthony Pepe, 84, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully on Nov. 25, 2019. He was born in Revere, Mass. on Jan. 19, 1935. Arthur was predeceased by his parents, Arthur Pepe Sr. and Lena Abbotoni Carroll; and his younger brother, Peter Gallace.
He is survived by his sister, Mona (Arthur) Pease of Appleton; and sister-in-law, Sherry Gallace of Nobleboro; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
“Pepe” is best known around Waldoboro for being a long-time trash collector. Neighbors left their trash out on pick-up day but were not surprised to hear their barrels rattling long into the night, knowing it wasn’t a raccoon after their trash, but Pepe running his route. He was also known as a participant at all town meetings, voicing his strong views.
Arthur enjoyed the Waldoboro Senior Citizens meetings and his friends at several local churches. Most recently he attended meetings at the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in Rockland.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Shuman Cemetery in Waldoboro.
