Arthur “Art” Karl McFarland Jr., 68, passed away Sept. 18.
Mr. McFarland was born in Damariscotta and lived most of his life in Memphis, Tenn. He graduated from Memphis State University and worked 40 years for the State of Tennessee.
Art is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kay; daughter, Kelly of Memphis, Tenn.; son, Karl (Rose); grandchildren, Kirsten, Andrew and Brianna, all of Nixa, Mo.; mother, Phyllis McFarland; sister, Judy (Ken) Cotton of Maine; brother, Fred (Susan) McFarland of Florida; and extended family and friends.
The family requests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.

The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m., Sat., Sept. 25 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tenn.
A memorial service will be held in summer of 2011 in Maine.
