On Aug. 8, Arthur John Lockhart, MD, 92, died in Pemaquid.
Dr. Lockhart graduated from Horace Mann School in 1932, Columbia College in 1936, and Columbia Medical School in 1940. After completing his training in Internal Medicine at New York Hospital, he joined the practice of Roger I. Lee on Beacon St. in Boston, Mass., where he remained until his retirement in 1980. He was also the Medical Director at Arthur D. Little in Cambridge, Mass.
Dr. Lockhart is survived by is wife of 65 years, Barbara (Salt) Lockhart; sons, Arthur John Lockhart, III of Pemaquid, Bruce Sanford Lockhart, MD of Petersham, Mass., and Peter Bergen Lockhart, DDS of Charlotte N.C.; daughter, Cynthia May Lockhart of Menlo Park, Cal.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services held Aug. 13 at Harrington Meeting House in Pemaquid where he was laid to rest at Harrington Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Strong Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Damariscotta.
