Arthur R. Dalton, 75, of Newcastle, passed away on the morning of Nov. 7 after a long battle with cancer with his family by his side. He was born in Wiscasset, the son of Edith and Joseph Dalton.
He attended Wiscasset schools, joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea, and would go on to retire from Bath Iron Works after 35 years there.
Arthur was well known for his kindness and sense of humor. He loved dancing, playing poker, scratching lottery tickets, going to camp, and most of all, his family. Everyone who knew him loved him.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Arlene; as well as two brothers, Richard and Wayne.
He is survived by his children, Julie, Christy and Phillip, Peter and wife Leaslie, Jackie, and Tiger and wife Peanut; grandchildren, Brian and wife Sarah, Ben, Brittani, Nick and wife Cynthia, and Zac; his long-time partner of 35 years, Judith Campbell and family Lauri, Lisa and Sheldon, Lorna, Sarah and husband Ryan, Kyle, Luke, Tyler and Jenny, Callie, Gabe, Ken Lincoln, Brittany, Ethan, Nathan, Simon, Lilah, and Riley.
Graveside service with military honors 1 p.m., Sat., Nov. 12 at the Sheepscot Cemetery with a gathering immediately after at the American Legion Hall, Bus. Rt. 1, Damariscotta.
