Astrid Wallace, 72, of Newcastle, died peacefully April 19 in the loving arms of her daughter “Sissy” at Penbay Medical Center in Rockport. She was born Dec. 9, 1937 in Edgecomb, a daughter of Halvor and Doris Bragg Libby.
Astrid was loved by many people. She was a very giving person. Astrid would often put the needs of other people in front of her own. Astrid owned and operated Little John’s Restaurant and was known to serve the local law enforcement officers that special piece of pie. Along with the restaurant she was also one of Avon’s top sales people in the state of Maine.
She was predeceased by the love of her life and father of her children, Neil Robichaud; father, Halvor Libby; mother, Doris Libby; brother, Jim Libby; grandson, Billy Davis; and nephews, Andrew and Scott Libby.
Survivors include her children, Allison Ellerbe, Robert Wallace, and James Wallace; stepmother, Vivian Libby; brothers, Alton Libby and wife Elise, Wilton Libby and partner Leeanna Hutchings, David Libby and partner Sharon, and Gordon Libby; sisters, Linda Verney and husband Jay, and Pat Dance and husband Jim; grandchildren, Jessica Herald, Justin Wallace, and Neil Wallace; and great-grandchildren, Raquel and Treyvon McKenzie.
Celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
