Audrey Hummel Anderson, 93, of Boothbay, passed away peacefully at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta on Jan. 21.
Audrey had been a longtime resident of Boothbay since 1982, first in the summer months and eventually full time. She was born in Wilkinsburg, Penn. in 1922 and had resided in several states before discovering Boothbay.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Warren R. Anderson Sr., who passed away in May of 2013. They had 70 wonderful years of marriage.
Audrey was a lover of art and literature with a positive, optimistic view of life. She respected and cherished all creatures great and small and always celebrated the beauty and diversity of the Maine coast. Her infectious smile and sense of humor provided great joy to all who knew her.
Audrey is survived by son, Warren R. Anderson Jr. and grandson, Dale E. DeShazo, both of Denver, Col.; great-grandson, Bowie Anderson DeShazo and great-granddaughter, Abigail Rose DeShazo, both of Dallas, Tex.; and niece, Cean Hummel Schopf and nephew David Hummel, both of Cambridge Springs, Penn.
Audrey will be laid to rest 11 a.m., Fri., May 13 next to her beloved husband in Evergreen Cemetery on Barters Island Road in Boothbay.
