Barbara Astrid (Johnson) Laskey, 77, of Bristol and Medford, Mass., died on May 19 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass. after a brief illness. She was born in Everett, Mass.
Barbara enjoyed 50 years in Pemaquid, having purchased their part-time residence in 1983 after almost 20 years of a seasonal renter. She attended services at the Congregational Church of Bristol. Barbara made many close friends in Bristol and truly enjoyed hosting her children and their families at their waterfront home.
Barbara attended Everett public schools, graduating in 1951. She attended UMass Boston. She worked for 20 years as a volunteer coordinator at the former Malden Hospital and was a late member of the Melrose Chapter #14 Order of the Eastern Star.
She was predeceased by parents, Ernest and Ingrid (Muhlbock) Johnson and siblings, Muriel Johnson, Robert Johnson and Hazel Newcomb.
She is survived by husband Richard M. Laskey, retired Brigadier General of the U.S. Army, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage; children, Richard M. Laskey Jr. and wife Josephine of Hampton, N.H., Frederick Laskey and wife Donna of Medford, Mass., Kenneth Laskey and wife April of Billerica, Mass. and Elizabeth Monteforte and husband Alexander of Hampstead, N.H.; siblings, Roland Johnson of Auburn, Edward Johnson and Eleanor Oldford; grandchildren, Richard III, Daniel, Christopher, Matthew, Geoffrey, Lauren, Alexander, Kirsten and Emilee; and niece and nephew, Donna and Sheriff Joel Merry of West Bath.
Funeral services held May 21 at the First Congregational Church in Chelsea, Mass.
