Barbara Bruno died peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 6, 2019, one month before her 93rd birthday.
Mother, cousin, grandmother, great-grandmother, and best friend, she made life brighter for all who were with her. Her husband, Gerry Bruno, once described her as the most generous person he’d ever met because she happily gave so much of herself to others. As small children, we would be upstairs when Barbara held parties. Even on another floor, you could always tell what which part of the house Barbara was in since that was where the people were livelier, more animated, and happier.
She loved being out and about with her friends, but she also loved a quiet picnic with her family. It is hard to imagine anyone who enjoyed life more than she did.
She is survived by Peter and Corky Bruno of Boise, Idaho; Timothy and Martha Bruno of Gloucester, Mass.; and Doug Wilson and Jon Bruno of Los Angles, Calif. She is also survived by grandchildren, Linda Salines, Benjamin and Kattie Bruno, and Elizabeth Bruno; as well as her great-grandchildren, Ellia, Charlotte, and Nora.
A memorial service for Barbara will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 30 at St. Andrew’s Church in Newcastle. In lieu of flowers please support The Garden Club of Wiscasset and the Friends of the Wiscasset Library.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta. Condolences, and messages for her family, may be expressed by visiting www.StrongHancock.com.
