Barbara Dunham, 87, formerly of S. Jefferson, went to be with Jesus on Sept. 29 at her home in Phoenix, Ariz.
She was the first of eight children, born June 6, 1920 to Perley and Thelma Bailey at their home in S. Jefferson.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl Dunham on Nov. 2, 2000, with whom she celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Feb. 2, 2000. They enjoyed 14 years together in their retirement home in Phoenix, Ariz. She is also predeceased by brothers, Myron and Roland Bailey and sister, Marilyn Pearson.
Barbara is survived by her six children and their spouses, Mary Ellen and David MacAdam of Concord, Mass., Evangeline and David Caslander of Weekiwachee, Fla., Edward and Flora Dunham of Wiscasset, Belinda and Paul Harding of Phoenix, Az., Dallas and Howard Schwarz of Wiscasset, and Perley and Debbie Dunham of Jefferson; brothers, Fernald Bailey and Willard Bailey of Jefferson, and Merrill Bailey of Nobleboro; and sister, Sandra Puccio of Taunton, Mass. She was blessed with 27 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
Barbara is celebrated for her life of caring for the physical and spiritual needs of family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed almost 40 years as an active member at Calvary Bible Church in N. Whitefield with Christian educational classes and administration for children and young people. She and her husband are fondly remembered for weekly youth meetings and hospitality in their home and years of an effective prayer ministry. Barbara gifted many with her hand crocheted Afghans.
She worked at the Augusta State Hospital in Augusta and Miles Home Health of Damariscotta.
Memorial service 4 p.m., Sat., Nov. 3 at Calvary Bible Baptist Church, North Whitefield.
