Barbara E. Hedden, 92, of Brentwood, N.H., passed away May 29 in Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood. Barbara was born in Waldoboro on Oct. 4, 1923, a daughter of the late Blaine H. and Margaret (Orff) Swift. Barbara was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the WAVES during WWII as a Pharmacist’s Mate. She worked as a nurse for most of her life.
She was predeceased by her husband Carlton S. Hedden; and brothers, Theodore, William, Richard, and Chester.
She is survived by sons, John A. Swift of Londonderry, N.H., and Charles W. Swift of Camden; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 10-11 a.m., Thurs., June 2 in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, N.H. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. The burial will be held at a later date.
