Barbara Ellen (Cooper) Brazier, a long-time resident of Waldoboro, passed away on May 4 at the Sussman House in Rockport with her family by her side.
Barbara was born on Feb. 9, 1943 in Sedgwick to Frank and Hazel (Haskell) Cooper. At a young age, the family relocated to Boothbay where Barbara was educated in local schools.
In September 1961, Barbara married Russell R. Brazier. They made their home in Waldoboro where they raised their four children. Barbara worked at Medomak Canning and Port Clyde Packing where she was noted to be very efficient at her job. Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; she cherished time spent with loved ones.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents; husband, Russell R. Brazier Sr.; grandsons, Adam and Brandon Brazier; and great-granddaughter, Aubrianna Ferrar.
Barbara is survived by sons, Russell R. Brazier Jr. and wife Faith of Waldoboro, Jeffrey S. Brazier and wife Lisa of Rockland, Darrell K. Brazier and wife Amy, and daughter Melinda R. Brazier, all of Friendship; grandchildren, Justin Brazier of Deer Isle, Hailey Brazier of Warren, Caitlyn and husband Rick Ferrar, Mikayla Brazier of Waldoboro, Zachary McLellan, and Logan and Aiden Brazier of Rockland; great-grandsons, Daniel Ferrar and Jacob McCullah; along with many nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Sussman House would be appreciated.
