After a long wait and valiant struggle, Barbara Jean was called Home to rest on Sept. 17. Barbara Jean was born July 20, 1935, the daughter of Stanley and Marion (Perrigo) Moore. She attended schools in Easton and Mars Hill, graduating from ACI in 1953.
On Dec. 31, 1955, she married her sweetheart, Robert Leroy Littlehale, and so began a journey that would last for nearly 59 years. They raised six children and Barbara Jean helped her husband in various family endeavors, including an egg farm and their 5 J’s Restaurant. She drove a school bus for SAD 40 for 20 years and diligently transported students safely and happily until health issues required her to retire.
Barbara Jean was known for her faith and trust in God and her love of the Truth of God, her sweet and gentle nature, and her unconditional love for her family. Barbara Jean’s doctors, nurses, caregivers, family and friends were always uplifted by her constant radiant smile.
In addition to her mother and father, she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Jaime Lynn Littlehale; two sisters; her mother- and father-in-law, Jennie Standish and Clayton Littlehale; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.
Barbara Jean is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Robert Leroy Littlehale II and Julie Weaver of Union; daughters, Janet Clark and husband John of Port Orange, Fla., Joan MacNeill, Jeannie Wood and husband Scott, Julie Tracy and husband David, all of Warren, Jacquelyn Jackson and Robert Chris Achorn of Friendship; grandchildren, Jared Littlehale and wife Katie, Christy Preston and fiancé, Tom Farrington, Laurie Preston Stiles and husband Tim, Taylor MacNeill and Ashley Lowe, Michael Wood and wife Monica, Ryan Wood, Laura Tracy Ruffner and husband Kyle, Kevin Tracy and Jackie Garrity, Jennifer Tracy, Devan Robinson, Natasha Jackson, Fontana Jackson, Jacoby McDaniel, Cameron Littlehale and Owen Littlehale; 15 great-grandchildren; five sister; one brother; several in-laws; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who all were dear to her.
Friends are invited to call at Hall’s Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m., Sun., Sept. 21 with funeral services to be held at 11 a.m., Mon., Sept. 22 at the Second Congregational Church, Main St., Warren, with Ralph Miller and Brad Wilson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara Jean’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, or the National Kidney Foundation.
