Barbara L. Pinkham, 63, of Boothbay Harbor, died Dec. 25 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Boothbay Harbor on July 27, 1945, the daughter of Roy and Thelma Nelson of Boothbay Harbor. She attended East Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor schools.
She was employed by Cap’n Fish’s Motel and St. Andrews Hospital for many years. Her hobbies included shopping and playing cards with her friends. Her love for her friends and family was her life. She also had a great love for animals.
She was predeceased by the love of her life and husband of many years, Allen L. Pinkham, in 1994; and a brother, Roy Nelson.
Surviving are three daughters, Diana L. Holmes and husband James of Boothbay Harbor, Lynne M. Smith and husband Roger of Brunswick, and Michelle P. Harmon and husband Dale of East Boothbay; two sons, Gary L. Manson Jr. of Brunswick and Wayne Manson of Boothbay Harbor; two sisters, Rebecca A. Lewis and husband Edgar of Boothbay Harbor, and Katherine Nelson McCullough and husband Scott of Boothbay Harbor; sister-in-law, Kareen Nelson of Boothbay; many grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, including Melissa Holmes of Boston, Mass., James Holmes of Boothbay Harbor, Heather and David Manson of Boothbay Harbor, Valerie, Ashley and Brandon Smith of Brunswick, and Brooke and Brady Harmon of East Boothbay (whom she cared for throughout her illness); and one great-grandchild, Emma Holmes of Boothbay Harbor.
A memorial service was held on Dec. 28.
