Barbara T. Vyhnak, 83, died Sept. 15 at Fieldcrest Manor in Waldoboro, after a short illness.
She was born March 25, 1923 in Norwalk, Conn., a daughter of the late Capt. Arthur H. and Florence S. Tolles. She was a graduate of Staples High School in Westport, Conn., class of 1941.
On April 26, 1958, she married Jaromir M. Vyhnak in Wilton, Conn.
Mrs. Vyhnak worked at Southern New England Telephone Company as an operator and retired as a business representative. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Wilton, Conn. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, gardening, canning, camping, swimming, traveling and bird watching.
In addition to her loving husband of more than 48 years, Mrs. Vyhnak is survived by two sons, Gary A. Vyhnak of Newcastle and James A. Vyhnak and wife Jennifer of Bristol, Vt.; four nephews, Robert Tolles and wife Hannah and children Lydia and Julianne of Edina, Minn., Benjamin Tolles and wife Margie and children Christine and Peter of Hancock, Minn., Douglas Tolles and wife Gerry and daughter Grace of Bethlehem, Conn., and Donald G. Tolles of Norwalk, Conn.; two nieces, Claudia Buckley and husband Jerry and children Nikki, Danni, Jonni, Andrew and Elizabeth of Solana Beach, Cal., and Lynne Zavory and husband John and daughters Meghan and Aeryn of Danbury, Conn.; and cousin, Harold Tolles and wife Mille of Norwalk, Conn.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Theodore Tolles; and sister, Dorothy Tolles.
Mrs. Vyhnak will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her, family and friends alike.
Private services will be held at the convenience of her family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Coast of Maine Cremation and Funeral Service, Waldoboro.
