Barbara V. Seefeld (Andrews), 92, died peacefully on Feb. 22 in Bristol, R.I. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Seefeld. She was the sister of Ethel E. Pedersen and the late Raymond Andrews.
She was born on Sept. 6, 1924 in New Bedford, Mass., the daughter of Milton C. Andrews and Ethel (Hampson) Andrews. Barbara was a 1942 graduate of New Bedford High School.
After her marriage, she and her husband, (a boat builder) lived in Detroit, Mich. In 1952 Barbara and Bob sailed from Detroit in the schooner he built, through the lakes and locks to take up residence on the Damariscotta River in North Edgecomb. The 60 years Barbara spent in her beloved woods of Maine brought her great happiness. She had many interests and talents; playing piano, reading, gardening, sewing, painting, and writing. Her family and friends will miss reading her wonderful letters.
In addition to her sister Ethel and brother-in-law, Theodore, she is survived by a niece, a nephew, and 17 greats and great-greats.
A celebration of her life will be held in Maine this summer.
