Beatrice C. Shea, 90, of Wiscasset, passed away on Oct. 31 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Wiscasset on June 22, 1917, daughter of Horace and Caroline Jones. She grew up on Westport Island.
She married Harold A. Shea, Sr. in 1945 and they made their home in Wiscasset.
Bea enjoyed cooking, and caring for the many children throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the Huntoon Hill Grange and also, for years worked at the Bingo that the Grange had every Friday night. She enjoyed her many trips walking to and from town in her younger years, and visiting her numerous long time neighbors.
She fought a battle with cancer with courage and dignity. She was loved and cared for by many, a reflection of the love and kindness she had bestowed during her life.
Bea was predeceased by her husband, Harold in 1980; sister, Bertha; and brothers, Horace Jr., Carroll and Stanley Jones.
Survivors include two brothers, Manley Jones of East Hampstead, N.H. and Clark Jones of Wiscasset; sons, Harold Shea, Jr. and wife Alice of Wiscasset, and Russell Shea and wife Leona of Augusta; daughters, Sandra Cornish and husband Bill of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Susan Spillane of Wiscasset, Cindy Bradford and husband Dan of Westport Island, and Tori McGregor and husband Russell of Melbourne, Australia; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of her life 1 p.m., Tues., Nov. 13 at the Jackson Cemetery in Wiscasset. Refreshments will be served afterwards at the Huntoon Hill Grange Hall in Wiscasset.
