Bernadette Marie Osgood, 56, of Boothbay, passed away peacefully at the Androscoggin Hospice Home on Oct. 2. She was born on Feb. 28, 1955, the daughter of Edwin and Lorraine Emmett Brewer.
She grew up in New Jersey and attended local schools. After moving around, the family settled in Maine. After high school she and her first husband David settled in Alna and started their family and she began work as a chamber maid at the Ships Ahoy hotel where she worked for many years.
After meeting her second husband Earle, she moved to Boothbay to be closer to her family. In her later years she worked at St. Andrews Village.
She was a hard worker and always stayed busy. She loved her family and wanted to spend as much time with them as she could. She enjoyed crocheting and photography. When the family would get together, she would always have her camera ready and the family has a trunk of photos to prove it. She enjoyed having people over to her home, especially around her favorite time of the year, Christmas. She found much joy in spending time with her grandchildren and loved the family trips to New Hampshire for visits to Storyland and Santa’s Village. She loved Elvis music and when she was able, she loved to dance.
She was an independent woman and handed down many great character traits to her children and grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Earle Osgood; children, Dana and Wendy Jewett; and mother, Lorraine Emmett.
