Bertie C. Keller, 74, Boothbay Harbor, died peacefully on Oct. 11 with loving family by his side. Bertie was born Aug. 14, 1941 to Doris (Pinkham) Keller and Albion Keller in Boothbay Harbor.
After graduating from Boothbay Harbor High School, Bertie joined the Marine Corps and proudly served his country in Vietnam. Upon returning to Maine, he married and raised his family, working as a fisherman in Boothbay Harbor until his retirement.
Bertie was very involved in the Boothbay Baptist Church and loved sharing the word of the Bible. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed going fishing and camping, and also gardening.
Bertie is survived by sons, Charles Keller and partner Carol Keller of Nobleboro, and Michael Keller of Pittston; brother, Robert Keller of Madison, Tenn.; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held for Bertie from 6-8 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 15 at Hall’s of Boothbay, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay. A celebration of Bertie’s life will be held at 10 a.m., Fri., Oct. 16 at Hall’s of Boothbay. A graveside service will follow with Marine Military Honors at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Boothbay Harbor.
