Betty Bickford, 72, of Wiscasset, passed away surrounded by her family on the morning of Dec. 30 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on April 21, 1946, a daughter of the late Seth and Geraldine (Robertson) Hanley. She grew up in Rockland and was a graduate of Rockland High School class of 1964. She spent her childhood summers on Vinalhaven and it continued to be a very special place for the rest of her life. She enjoyed reading and listening to Willie Nelson music.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Tanya Bickford and companion David Curtis of Palm Bay, Fla.; son, Robert Bickford Jr. and wife Janet of Wiscasset; granddaughter, Jenna Bickford of Wiscasset; and sister, Debra Miller and husband Howard of Leland, N.C.
A private service will be held to celebrate Betty’s life.
