Betty (Books) Lord-Wood, 87, of Boothbay Harbor, widow of Everett H. Lord-Wood, died on July 1. She was born in Middletown, Penn. on Dec. 2, 1921, a daughter of the late Lester C. and Emma (Myers) Books.
Betty and her husband, Everett, lived in West Hartford, Conn. for many years. She attended the First Church of Christ, Congregational in West Hartford. She was a graduate of Beaver College, now part of Arcadia University in Glenside, Penn., and was a member of the American Association of University Women. The University of Hartford employed her for 25 years.
Her brothers Donald Neil Books and Lester C. Books, Jr. and his wife Louise Vest Books predeceased her.
Betty leaves her daughter, Dominica S. Lord-Wood of Woolwich; sister, Lois Books of Aldan, Penn.; and two nephews, Lester C. Books III and wife Marcia of Anacortes, Wash., and James Books and wife Glenna of Rapid City, S.D., their sons, Peter and wife Keli of Brookings, S.D., and Paul and wife Lacey of Denver, Col.
Gathering was held at St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor on July 7. Private interment Fri., July 17 at Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford, Conn.
