Betty Jane Stevens (Prentice, Brackett), 76, of Bradenton, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on June 20. She was born Aug. 8, 1934 in Bristol, a daughter of Kenneth and Esther Prentice. She was a graduate of Bristol High School and Miss Gills School of Nursing in Boston, Mass. Betty was recognized for her quality Tole paintings and was the owner and operator of Betty Jane’s Wee Boutique in Newcastle, and Betty Jane’s Tole & Decorative Painting, of both Hallowell and Monmouth.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Stevens; son, Russ (Dorothy) Chandler; stepson, Raymond (Jennifer) Stevens; stepdaughter, Beth Knapp; sister, Georgia Bell Leeman; brother, Ken Prentice Jr. (Fred Selph); seven grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; and four great-grandchildren.
At her request, there will be no services.
