Beverley Lucille Pendleton, 79, passed away April 5 in Rockland.
Born Feb. 23, 1928 in Newcastle, she was the daughter of Ralph H. and Thelma Cornish Sprague.
She was schooled at Franklin Grammar School and attended Lincoln Academy in Newcastle.
Beverley married Clarence (Bud) Augustus Pendleton, Jr. of Bath. Bud, Beverley, and daughter Clarice moved from Maine to California in 1971. Beverley returned to Newcastle around 1997, after the death of her husband, and later moved to Waldoboro.
While in California she worked for several florists. She enjoyed knitting, and doing crossword puzzles, but the joy of her life was her great-grandson, Devante.
She was predeceased by her husband; father and mother; brothers, Frederick and Neil Sprague; and sisters, Beatrice Prior, Aldana McLoon and Bernice Sprague.
She is survived by her daughter, Clarice and husband Shann Sykes; granddaughter, Caitlyn Aldana Hilton and companion Raul Helmuth; great-grandson, Devante Connor Hilton-Helmuth; brothers, Ralph Sprague, Jr. and wife Dorothy of Waldoboro, Anthony Silas Sprague of Brookings, Ore., and Alvah Sprague and Jodi of Damariscotta; sisters, Virginia Sprague Berry of Damariscotta, and Thelma and husband Ronald House of South Bristol; brother-in-law, Roger Prior of Waldoboro; and sister-in-law, Janice O. Sprague of Nobleboro; and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
A service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
