Beverly Florence “Phifer” Foster, 67, passed away Jan. 21 at her home in Waldoboro.
Beverly was born April 16, 1939, in Thomaston, the daughter of Carroll E. and Madine F. Arey Foster.
She was a graduate of Milford High School in Milford, Conn. After she graduated, she worked for a helicopter company in Connecticut.
In 1960 she married Harold Phifer.
Bev worked to obtain her real estate license and worked from her home as a real estate agent.
In the early 70’s, the family moved to Waldoboro where she worked at the Waldoboro Town Office for five years as a clerk, Central Maine Power Company in Augusta for five years, and at many various occupations in Waldoboro.
Bev enjoyed spending time outside and at the ocean as well as growing flower gardens, being particularly found of her day lilies that surrounded her home. She enjoyed making crafts of many kinds and especially loved the time she spent with her family.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Waldoboro.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Harold Phifer; and daughter, Deborah Phifer.
Survivors include her sons, Daniel Phifer and wife April of Waldoboro, and David Phifer of Jefferson; grandchildren, Mary, Heidi and James Phifer of Waldoboro, Melissa Brown and husband Zachary of Somerville, and Hilary, Jessica and Timothy Phifer of Jefferson; brother, Carroll Foster Jr. of Connecticut; great-granddaughter, Adrianna Juntura of Waldoboro; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours 10-11 a.m., Fri., Jan. 26, followed by a Celebration of her life at 11 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro, with the Rev. Joseph Beardsley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Beverly’s memory to a humane society of one’s choice.
