Beverly L. Heyer, 79, of Waldoboro, died Feb. 6 at her home. She was born Dec. 17, 1931 in Coopers Mills to John A. Meservey and Eva Mae Hopkins Meservey. She graduated from Erskine Academy in the class of 1950. She attended Farmington Normal School for a year to become a teacher. When her plans fell through, she moved to Waldoboro.
She worked as a waitress at Moody’s Diner. She later worked at GTE Sylvania in Waldoboro as coil line operator for 36 years. She was honored with a dinner party for 30 years perfect attendance. She was well loved by her co-workers because she would make them home-cooked goodies. She received a special letter from Governor Joseph Brennan after her retirement from Sylvania. After she retired, she became a pastry cook. She always enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She also enjoyed the old country music.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Heyer and brother, Chester Meservey.
She is survived by brother, Charles Meservey Sr. and wife Rita of Pembroke, N.H.; nieces, Diane Veroneau of Elmira, N.Y. and Lori Meservey of Pembroke, N.H.; nephews, Charles Meservey Jr. and wife Jackie of Allenstown, Penn. and Craig Meservey of Bedford, N.H.; several great- nieces and nephews; special friends, Chris Glidden of Waldoboro and Sharon Moody of Nobleboro; and many special neighbors and friends.
Graveside service will be held and announced in the spring at the Shuman Cemetery, Rt. 220 North, Waldoboro.
