Blanche Hanshew, 97, passed away on April 23 at Cove’s Edge Nursing Home in Damariscotta. Born on Sept. 1, 1915 in Toqua Township, Minn., she was the daughter of Carl and Katherine Wold.
She moved west to California as a young woman, where she married Marion Hanshew and raised a family. In her latter years she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Butch Long, in Damariscotta.
She was a gentle, kind and loving person, and touched many people with her grace.
She is survived by her children, Ronald Hanshew, Marlene Long, and Dennis Hanshew; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
