Bobby Jean Palardy, 70, of Newcastle, passed away in her husband’s arms on the evening of Feb. 6. Born in St. Pauls, N.C. on Jan. 28, 1940, she was the daughter of Gentry and Bernice Cribb.
She moved to Newcastle with her husband in 1986. She worked at Hannaford and Yellowfront Grocery for several years as a cashier. Prior to this, she worked as an Electronic Technician for Sanders Associates, where she received several awards and bonuses for cost savings in electronics production, and for being an exemplary employee.
She was an avid and expert cross stitcher, and made many beautiful pieces. She loved her pet Shih-Tzu “China” and her two cats, “Chester” and “Mr. Dillon” (Rumpy).
She loved her family dearly, and is survived by her husband of 51 years, Andrew G. Palardy Sr. of Newcastle; children, Cheryl Anne Thompson and husband Bob of Deland, Fla., Sharon Louise Palardy of Lowell, Mass., and Andrew Palardy Jr. and wife Patty of Sebasco Estates; mother, Bernice Collins; sister, Marian Cullum; and brother, Mellor Collins, all of Pasadena, Md.
Her family will miss her beautiful and comforting presence and are joyful in knowing that she is safe in the shadow of God’s wings.
Service for Bobby Jean will be held, and announced, later in the spring. She will then be laid to rest at the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Newcastle.
