Brian James Kingston, 69, of Warren, passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 2 after battling a long illness.
He was born in Damariscotta to Vincent and Agnes (Ferran) Kingston on Nov. 15, 1943. He attended Lincoln Academy where he was voted class president.
Brian proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy where he was part of the Admiral’s staff and handled top secret information. After an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, Brian volunteered as an American Legion National Commander, serving three consecutive terms at Wells-Hussey Post #42 in Damariscotta.
He was an avid boater and enjoyed any time spent on the water, whether it was a river, lake or the ocean. Some of his favorite days were spent at the family camp on Damariscotta Lake.
He was also a huge fan of NASCAR, enjoyed snowmobiling and loved a challenging game of cribbage. He especially enjoyed his weekly trips to the movies with his friend of 60-plus years (and brother-in-law) Donald York of Damariscotta as well as trips to the Racino with Craig Lewis.
Brian spent 25 years working for Central Maine Power, first as a meter reader working his way up to line inspector.
Brian is predeceased by his parents.
