Brooks M. Turner, 63, of Jefferson, went home to be with the Lord on May 22 at his home with his loving family at his side.
He was born in Gardiner on Feb. 2, 1949, to John M. Turner and Ruby I. Brann Turner. He was a beloved husband, brother, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. Everyone who knew and loved him affectionately called him Brooksie.
Raised and educated in Jefferson schools he was a “jack of all trades.” He was a longtime employee of Brann’s Auto Service in Windsor and retired after many years of working for Williams/Ferraiolo Construction Company in Farmingdale.
He loved hunting and fishing; working in his man cave, gardening — especially his lupine, but most of all he loved spending time with his family from the youngest (1 year old) to the oldest (75 years old). He had a heart of gold.
He was predeceased by his parents; stepson, Larry Blake; and nephew, Jason Cunningham.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Shirley A. Turner; stepson, Matthew Blake; grandchildren, Derek Heather and Anna Marie; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Hayden and Taylor, all of Sidney, Michael Lambourne, Camren and Kristie, of Lexington, N.C., and Christopher Blake, Isabelle and Sophie of St. Louis, Mo.; very special daughter-in-law, Stephanie Blake; Kirk Von Rosenberg; Tom and Emily Blake of Cummings, Ga.; brothers and sisters, Tony Turner and wife Ty of Whitefield, John Turner of Jefferson, Beverly Lewis of Randolph, Frances Cunningham of Newcastle, Nancy Brann and husband Richmond of Palermo, Ruth Cunningham of Belfast, and Donna and Robert Kilmer of Augusta; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
