Bruce G. Simmons, 54, of Nobleboro, passed away the evening of Aug. 20 at the Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. Born on April 14, 1959, in Damariscotta, he was the son of Ralph Simmons Sr. and Louise (Black) Simmons.
Bruce grew up in Damariscotta and Nobleboro, and was a graduate of Morse High School in Bath. He was a homebody and an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing and his beagle dogs. For many years he worked for Palino Tire and, more recently, for Don Hunt Paving.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Simmons Sr.
He is survived by mother, Louise Simmons of Nobleboro; four siblings, Rhonda Nguyen of South Carolina, Evelyn Trask of Chelsea, Ralph Simmons Jr. of Newcastle, and Craig Simmons of Waldoboro; best friends, Mark and Wayne Ross; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Fri., Aug. 30, 2013 at the Bethlehem Cemetery, Back Meadow Road, Damariscotta. Pastor Tom Rawley will officiate.
