Bruce Lincoln Johnson, 66, of Damariscotta, died suddenly at his home on June 21. Bruce grew up in Saco, the son of Everett and Arline Johnson, and attended Saco schools, graduating from Thornton Academy in 1963.
Bruce spent three years in the Army, stationed in Hawaii, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. After the Army, he worked for Arnold Machinery in Portland for several years. Then he worked for various Caterpillar dealers around Maine. He was later a self-employed diesel mechanic.
Bruce enjoyed working the land, including farming and landscaping. He especially enjoyed his grandson Cameron.
Bruce is survived by his son, Christopher and grandson, Cameron of Saco; stepdaughter, Wendy of Auburn and her children, Ashley and Tyler; brother, Fred of South Portland; sister, Judy Higgins of Saco; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
